

Soc was born May 1, 1925 in El Paso, TX to Florentino Esparza and Guadalupe Vega. She grew up and completed high school in El Paso and earned her teaching degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Soc taught elementary school in the South Texas Valley for many years before returning to Austin to continue teaching and worked for a time at the Southwest Educational Development Laboratory. She was an active member of LAMP for over 20 years.
Soc married Juan Roberto Lujan in 1948. She is predeceased by her husband Juan, parents, siblings Angel, Florentino, and Guadalupe. She is survived by sons Hector, Denis, Nolan, Don and their spouses; siblings Alex, Hector, Celsa (Sal), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Soc enjoyed having an open house for her many nieces and nephews through the years. After her retirement Soc and Juan traveled extensively and thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company. She will be remembered for her open smile, feisty personality, her love of family and her strong faith.
Visitation will be held at 5 PM, with a Rosary to follow at 6 PM, on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 N.Lamar. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Monday, June 28, 2021 at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Rd, Austin TX. She will be laid to rest immediately after at Cook Walden Capital Parks at 14501 North IH 35, Pflugerville TX 78660.
