Soledad Shirley Zapata, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2006. She was born on June 17, 1920 to Guadalupe Castillo Serrano and Ysabel Serrano. She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; one brother; and beloved grand-daughter Angelica Maria Zapata. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Zapata; daughter, Rachel Helsdingen; grandsons, Richard Rivera, Jesse Rivera, Sr., Augustine Rivera; great-grandchildren, Destiny Rivera, Jesse A. Rivera, Jr., Xavier Rivera; sisters, Isabel LaFuente, Carrie Atteberry, Teresa Atteberry; brothers, Paul Serrano, Joe Serrano; and many nieces and nephews. Thanks to the Staff at St. Davids; and Dorothy at Hill Country Healthcare for all the care given to Shirley. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2006 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with Reverend Jesse Euresti officiating. Followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery.
