Stanley Cherokee Lawson, Jr. On January 1, 2007, Stanley Cherokee Lawson began his new year with the Lord. Stanley passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was born on December 24, 1926, in Sasser, Kentucky. Stanley is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 54 years, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, Tom Lawson of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, Rex Lawson of London, Kentucky, Billy Jo Parrish of Schererville, Indiana, and Beulah May Lawson of Frankfurt, Michigan. Also, 2 sons, Byron Lawson and wife Fran, of Austin, Roger Lawson and wife Holly of Johnson City and 1 daughter, Pamala Lawson of Buda. Stanley and Shirley have 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons. Stanley was a man of many talents. He was a great fiddle player for many years. Everyone who knew him knew him as Cherokee. Stanley was a fine man, a great, loving husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm 9:00 pm on Friday, January 5, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 6 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel.
