

Stanely Eugene Pushkarsky passed away unexpectedly December 27, 2025, in Austin, Texas. He was born on June 13, 1954, in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Sophie Pushkarsky and his partner Brian Clark.
Stan is survived by his sisters Evelyn Elgin, Mary Alice Lomason, and Becky Donohue (Mike). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Sean Donohue (Lisa), Sarah Brys (Tim), Harry Austin Lomason III, and Heather Bade (Tony) and their families. In addition, he is survived by step-relatives Kerry Burris (Robert), Blake Weiler (Kim), and Creed Weiler and their families.
Stan was known by several names throughout his life including Gene, by the community he grew up in, Stan, to his family and co-workers in his adult years, and Dusty, to his close friends and partner.
Stan graduated from Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas. Eventually, he was employed at Austin Community College (ACC) where he was an Associate Professor and Manager of Computer Science Studies, taught computer science courses, and served on several academic committees. In 2010, Stan was awarded the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award for Computer Information Systems. Stan retired from Austin Community College in 2014 with 35 years of service.
Stan’s greatest passion was playing bridge competitively. For 35 years he was a member of the American Contract Bridge League, achieving the rank of Sapphire Life Master. He often represented his district at the North American Bridge Championships in the Prestigious Grand National Teams Event. Stan always treated his partner and opponents with the utmost courtesy and respect. Furthermore, he loved mentoring newer players to help them develop their game.
Stan will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him, especially his ACC co-workers and bridge friends.

A memorial service will be held for Stan at the Bridge Center of Austin at 11 AM on Sunday February 15, 2026, 6700 Middle Fiskville Rd, Austin, TX 78752.
