Stephanie Neely, born June 23, 1945 in Caldwell, Idaho, passed away January 6, 2010 in Austin, Texas following a four year struggle with ovarian cancer. She had a distinguished 23 year career with the Austin Public Library. As a manager at the Spicewood Springs, Little Walnut Creek, and Ruiz branch libraries, she worked tirelessly to improve upon and integrate library services into the communities that she served. In 2006 her service was honored with the New York Times Librarian Award. Stephanie is survived by her husband William Neely; daughter Elisabeth; sons Daniel, Luke, and Alex; parents Gordon and Betty Barker; sister Martha Blessing. A private service will be held in her honor in Boise, ID.
