Stephen Carter Flusche

Stephen Carter Flusche of Austin, TX, born April 30, 1987 died unexpectedly on February 18, 2013. He was a graduate of Westlake High School and Saint Edwards University. His degree was in Business and Accounting. Post-graduation employment included several years with Texture Media Inc, where he held a variety of jobs including Warehouse Manager. He later moved to Circular Energy for a brief consulting stint before returning to Texture Media as a bookkeeping consultant. He very much enjoyed the friendships he established with co-workers.

Music was a large part of his life beginning with participation in Choir at Hyde Park Baptist School and continuing at Westlake Highschool. In addition to classical singing, he enjoyed contemporary music and was with a number of bands through the years. These included Jaded, Earthbound, Space Thief, Heads Up Isaac, Old Number 6 and others. In addition to vocals, he played lead and rhythm guitar, bass, drums and keyboard at various times. He cherished the friendships that grew from these encounters. Other hobbies included beer making. Family and friends will truly miss him: his smile, his music and his sense of humor.

He is survived by his mother Loren Carter Rice and father Gary A. Flusche of Austin; Aunts Doris Robinson and Sylvia Flusche of Wichita Falls; Stefani Rice of Clear Lake; Kristina Burke and husband Pat Dizazzo of Houston; uncle, William Rice, Jr. of Houston. Cousins include Carla LaBaise and her daughter Alexandra of Wichita Falls; Rhonda Caffee, her sons Travis and Lee and husband Bobby all of Austin; Lynette Diane Holtz of Marble Falls and her son Spencer of Boulder, CO; and many other family members.

Memorial services will be held at St. Michael's Episcopal Church 1500 N Capital of Texas Highway at 5 pm on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your preferred charity.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Saturday, Mar 2, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Electra, Texas; a gathering will follow at the Parish Hall at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Electra.
