

Stephen R. Pfeffer passed to eternal life February 18, 2016 after a lengthy and courageous battle with complications from surgery that severely damaged his lungs. Stephen was born March 12, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Margaret and Robert Pfeffer.
Stephen is survived by his cherished wife, Janet, devoted step-son Tim Leeth, and step daughter, Leslie Leeth. Stephen is also survived by granddaughters Sara and Rachel Leeth, and his special love, great grandson Harley. Also surviving Stephen are his sister Robbie Carlson and her husband Dave, Brother Peter Pfeffer and numerous nieces and nephews.
A unique individual, with a larger than life presence, Stephen entered the Marine Corps and served his country proudly, and throughout his life, lived by the principals of the Corps. A great lover of all sports, Stephen found his career as a salesman of sporting equipment and clothing. His career brought him to Texas and he embraced and loved all things Texan. He liked to say he knew Texas better than most born Texans. The only thing Stephen retained from his home state was his love for the Green Bay Packers and he remained a staunch fan until the end.
Stephen met his wife and best friend Janet in Austin and they married March 24, 1986. Steve was an Avid golfer and played frequently with a group of very good friends. Steve and Janet loved riding their Harley and rode it around the country for many years. With a taste for traveling, they discovered cruising and enjoyed travelling to exciting places around the world and met many great friends, Stephen truly never met a stranger.
After Steve retired from his career in sales, he and Janet became consultants for an Out-Placement Company. Steve specialized in identifying and securing companies for job fairs he organized. He and Janet worked in North Dakota, Illinois, California and Texas, making many new friends in their travels and work.
A 32nd degree Mason, Stephen was a member of Riverbend Church and served in their ministry by organizing and presenting Job search workshops for the Riverbend membership.
A celebration of Stephen’s life was held at Smith Chapel, Riverbend Church on a March 4, 2016.
