Susan was the kindest and the best of the best.

Susan was a dear friend, a partner in laughs, a quick wit, a lover of animals, and a true giver.  We shared many fun times together at Bowie High School and on the ranch in Lockhart.  I just received the news of her passing and am sad for our loss, but happy for heaven, as I know she's there surrounded with loved ones and sweet critters.  Wishing her friends and family peace, healing, and release.

I have just received the news that my dear beautiful friend has left us to rejoin her soulmate. I met Susan at a benefit for animals and we became fast friends.  I had just talked to her in early December.  I cannot express the deep loss I feel from her passing, especially her unique outlook on life and verve for spiritual truth, but know that she is now at peace with her loves, Stephen, many pets and of course, Mr. Chicken.  Dear Friend, I will miss you immensely.  Love to all the family.

A common friend of ours just found out the news today and reached out by sending me the obituary. I'd known, of course, and had spoken with both Kirk and Debbie in early December. I just want the family to know that I think of Susan frequently. I think of her when something funny happens that I think she would have liked, or when something political happens that I know she'd have loved to chew over.  She was such a wonderful friend to me. I met Susan through her brother Kirk around 25 years ago. We have always stayed in touch over the years, and I so appreciated her friendship, her quick wit, and that brassiness. Dynamite does come in small packages. I loved so many things about her.  Her impenetrable bond with her family, most of all, without question. I loved that she marched to the beat of her own drum. I enjoyed the political banter between her and Kirk. Being passionate about her family, her ability to not just teach, but educate, wanting to save the children and animals of the world pretty much says it all to me. I will miss her tremendously.

I just learned of Susan's passing today and am greatly saddened.  We hadn't seen each other since high school back in the 70's but had reconnected via Facebook a couple of years ago through a common friend, John B. Williams.  It turned out we had much in common and it was such a pleasure to share a friendship with her even if from a distance.  She was many things, among them smart, witty and caring.  May Susan's memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

I met Susan when she and Stepen began to date here in Lockhart and she became a friend. It was clear that they surely cherished each other. I am saddened by the passing of them both but am thankful that I had the privilege of knowing them. May God bless and keep them both. Condolences to Susan's family at this time. I can not even to begin to put into words how I feel without you Susan. You are my sister, Aunt to my boys and BEST friend.  You will never be forgotten in our hearts.  I love you so much.

Not only was Susan a fellow colleague and teacher at Bowie High School, but she was also a true friend. She made a deep and lasting difference in all the young lives she touched as world history teacher. The Bowie Social Studies Department was strengthened by her presence, her persistence to do things the right way, and her steady influence with those she taught with. To Susan: "A job well done--good and faithful servant."

Steve Kuhn and I were friends although not as close as we might otherwise had been as the miles between us conspired except for radio-related meetings mostly. I met Susan only once but remember her as a sweet lady and I know Steve cherished her. May both of them rest in peace, and may the good Lord bless and keep them.

I met Susan when she became partners with my in-law, Stephen Kuhn. Betty and I knew right away that Stephen had met his match.  She was perfect for him. We got to visit with them at holidays and for partys.  Susan always had a smile and a laugh. 
We had much in common. We both grew up in Austin in the 60's, were both high school social studies teachers, and we shared a political viewpoint something left of center. I will miss hearing her salty comments during this whacky election cycle.  
I know that she made a difference in the lives of thousands of young people, giving of her ability and caring.  
I am sad. In such a short time my Betty has gone, and then Stephen, and now Susan.  They are missed, and never forgotten.

Heaven must have been in need of a shining light.  For Susan was certainly that.  She touched countless people, young and old, with her grace, strength, wisdom and loving nature.  The shock of her passing is tempered with the idea that she is now with Stephen and others who have loved her deeply.

The Sonny and Virginia Wallace family send our condolences on Susan's passing. She was one of my sons favorite teachers at Bowie in the 1990's.

Susan and I were roommates at Texas beginning our sophomore year at Tri Towers, through the summer and the following year. She was one of those people who was an immediate best friend and we had some amazing, crazy, fun times together. I will never forget those times or the contagious laughter which came so easily to her.  A beautiful spirit has left us, but heaven is all the better place now. Be at peace, dear friend. 
To Betty, Bob, Kirk, Mark, and family members- Susan and I spent a special time in our lives together and I dearly loved your girl. Love and peace to you all- you are in my prayers during this difficult time.

I will miss my friend, Susan. She was my teacher in the early 1990s. To this day, my favorite teacher.  She supported me in my music, and I helped support her as we both had very difficult health issues. I will never forget her.

I will miss my dear cousin terribly but I am thankful that she no longer suffers.  She and Uncle Tom are looking upon us while sharing a lifetime of memories, laughs and stories.

Susan was a profound and excellent teacher at Bowie High School when I was there. She and Ron were very good friends of mine and Susan & I kept in touch through the years. Ron Crumpton roasted me at my TOTY reception - something I'll never forget. Love to them both. We had many laughs together. So sad!
