Susan Myers Benedict

Susan was born May 24, 1965, in Falfurrias, TX, to Ron and Wanda Myers. She is survived by her husband, Michael Benedict, of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her mother, Wanda Myers, of Rockport, TX, her brother, Ron (Bucky) Myers, and nieces, Samantha Myers and Shai Anne Searcy, of Austin, TX. Susan is also survived by her very close cousin, Kathy Hatch (and spouse Kevin Harms), and Kathy's children, Kristina Hatch (and son Dylan), James Hatch (and spouse Courtney), and Colleen Harms, all of Rockport, TX. She was predeceased by her father, Ron Myers, and her aunt, Kay Myers Gardner, both of Rockport, TX. She also will be dearly missed by her in-laws, George (Fritz) and Ann Benedict, her sister-in-law, Sarah Benedict, and her beloved dogs, Daisy and Rocket, all of Austin, TX.

Susan began her education in Falfurrias at Presbyterian Day School, attended grades 4-10 at Stavanger American School in Norway, and graduated high school in 1983 from Singapore American School. She then obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988. She was presently employed as studio manager for Bluepoint Games, where she was cherished by her fellow coworkers.

Susan's family will receive visitors at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar, in Austin, TX, on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 3-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Austin Pets Alive (www.austinpetsalive.org), Wharton County SPOT (wcspot.org), or another animal rescue organization of the donor's choice.
