Louie Pabor left home at age 13, a towheaded boy from a small town in Missouri, to begin his education toward becoming a minister in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. From that day in 1930, through the churches he served and the many positions he held, mostly in his beloved State of Texas, until his recent death, he was a spiritual guidepost, a counselor, and a friend for anyone lucky enough to make his acquaintance. His sermons were rich in metaphor and parable, making direct logical connections between our everyday lives and the teachings of the Bible in ways that soothed as well as enriched his listeners. Louies biggest asset was his level of compassion for his fellow man. He was comfortable speaking with people from any level of our society, seeing not social status but the soul of the individual instead. Everyone has a favorite Louie, Dad, or Pastor Pabor story which includes touching levels of emotional sharing. He lived Life Abundantly, Serving His Lord. As a dad and a husband, Louie was fair, open, loving. He was blessed with many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His enduring love for his wife Dolores was unending. He will be greatly missed. Visitation hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1st at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
