

Thelma Bolm Yeates passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2005. She was born November, 22, 1909 in St. Louis, Missouri. At the age of 4, Thelma moved with her parents, Mae and Arthur Bolm, to the Austin area. She attended Pease Elementary and after graduating from Austin High School in 1927, she attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee and then returned to The University of Texas, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Thelma was a member of the Junior Helping Hand Home for Children, and a very active member of Hyde Park Baptist Church where her husband Jim taught Sunday School for 20 years. Thelma was a gracious, caring and thoughtful lady who will be remembered for always helping others in need. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years James Yeates and her only daughter Mary Ann Bailey. She is survived by her sister Arline Fitzpatrick; her grandchildren, Melanie Bailey Fish and her husband Laurens Fish III, Debra Bailey and her partner Susan Redden, and Jim Bailey and his wife, Robin Anderson Bailey; her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Bradley Bailey and Merritt and Lawson Fish. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers who attended to Thelma in the last two years of her life. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Family burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
