Theresa Medlar, known as Terry to her friends, was born in Yonkers, NY on October 1, 1934, to Margaret Frattolillio DeCola and Vincent Joseph DeCola. She had two siblings, Thomas and Marguerite, who preceded her in death. She attended Yonkers public schools, graduating from Roosevelt High School where she was valedictorian, and graduated cum laude from the College of Mount Saint Vincent with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. She married Arthur William Medlar in 1959 at Saint Ann’s Church in Yonkers. They had three children, Arthur, Carole (Steve Carpenter), Margaret (Manuel Escandón), and five grandchildren, Rachel, Elisa, Manuel, Sophia, and Iris. Terry was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She also excelled in her career at IBM and Lockheed Martin, where she earned the prestigious President’s Circle Award in 2000. She lived in Gaithersburg, MD for 55 years and has spent the last two years in Austin, TX. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at 11701 Clopper Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878 on Thursday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
