Terrie was a cosmetologist in her younger days and retired from that profession due to her arthritis, but it did not stop there. She loved cleaning and organizing; that became her second profession. Once she started doing this, she had more work than she could manage. Terrie did not forget her old friends that she had met over the years. She would do people’s hair at their homes when they had a tough time getting out. She also volunteered at her grandson’s schools, and this started when he was in kindergarten and continued all the way through high school. She was well known at the Del Valle schools for all her work and her shining personality. She loved watching her sons play sports and this love continued with her grandchildren when they began to play sports. She had an incredibly special relationship with each one of her grandchildren and was so proud of them.
Terrie was the matriarch of her family and was genuinely loved by everyone she met. Whether doing hair, cleaning your home, at school or ball games, if you met her once, you would not forget her enthusiasm, her cheerful outlook, and her kind words for you.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Manuel Navarro; her sons, Manuel Anthony Navarro, Orlando Navarro and wife, Vanessa, and Gilbert Hernandez. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Cassie, Chelsea, Cheyenne, Mando, Sirayah, Isy, Levi, and Eli; four great-grandchildren; and her beloved sisters, Olga Hernandez and Anita Cruz.
Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, US, on April 7, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
