Thomas Stratton Cyrus, Jr., of Sherman, Texas passed away on September 17, 2009 in Austin, where he had resided for the last 2 ½ years. Mr. Cyrus was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 28, 1922. He was married to Shirley Johnston Cyrus for 55 years until her death in 2002. Mr. Cyrus was employed by Merck, Sharp and Dohme for his entire career, calling on physicians and pharmacists, who were not only his customers but also his friends. A Paschal graduate, he attended TCU and graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Texas Weslyan University in Fort Worth. Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus are survived by their daughter, Maury Swenson of Sioux Narrows, Ontario Canada and their son, Stratton Cyrus, III, his wife, Jenny of Austin, Texas and their families, which includes 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2009, at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
