

Timothy Carr III was born November 24, 1940 in Austin, Texas to the late Timothy and Mable Carr. To this union five sons and two daughters were born. One sister Ruth Mujahid and two brothers Norman Earl Carr and Amin Rasool preceded him in death.
Timothy attended Anderson High School and received recognition in the hurdles in both track and field as well as the accolade of being all-state wide receiver twice in the state championship for the Anderson Yellow jackets. He and later attended Huston Tillotson University.
Timothy met the love of his life Iris Marie Priestley in 1962 and were later married on August 9, 1963. Tim and Iris has one son Terence Brian Carr and one daughter Rogenishia Enique Carr. Timothy became a member of the Metropolitan AME Methodist Church during his childhood and in 1998 joined Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend Bacon. Because he loved to sing and music, he joined the men’s chorus.
Tim was an entrepreneur and owned several businesses including International Cleaning, and Triple T’s Lawn Service. Tim had a passion for fashion and in 1978 he realized a dream and opened Timothy’s Men’s fine Apparel in Northcross mall. Tim was a huge giver and often gave apparel to those in need as well as a kind word or advice. In his leisure he loved to laugh, joke, and play cards and dominos with family and friends.
Timothy was called to heaven on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 and leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Iris Marie Carr, son Terence Brian Carr (Wanda), daughter Rogenishia Enique Carr, and three grandchildren Jacob Sterling Carr, Alexis Marie Carr, Nova Giselle Webb and brothers William Carr (Clarice), Donnie Carr and sister Asmahan Carr Rasool, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
