Tony "Ta" Ayala

Tony "TA" Mendez Ayala of Austin passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, September 16, 2016. He was born August 5th, 1938 in Austin Texas to Herminia Mendez Daywood and Frank Ayala, Sr., stepfather, John Daywood, and stepmother Socorro Ayala.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Ayala; first wife, Mary Ninfa Ayala; his parents Herminia and John Daywood and Frank and Socorro Ayala, Sr.; his sisters, Adela Ayala, Angie Ayala and Nelda Alvarado.

Tony is survived by his wife of twenty five years, Gloria Hernandez Ayala; his children John and Jolynn Ayala, Steve Ayala and Rosanne and Ray Billington. Stepchildren, Doris and Lee Limon, Susan and Lindsey Valdez, Sandra Herrera, Paul Mendoza, and Michael and Cathy Mendoza. Siblings, Yolanda Madrid, Frank and Teresa Ayala, Jr., Alma and Richard Garcia, Alice and Eleazar Solis, Alfred and Monica Ayala, Annie Ayala, Ida and Richard Salinas, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at the VA Hospital Temple, the Central Texas VA Clinic Austin, Hospice Austin staff Samantha Nicolls, RN and Dr. Faith Holmes for their care and support.
