A graduate of Trinity High School in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania (1995), Tricia continued her education at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (1999) and Master of Business Administration (2001). She also earned a Master of Science in Communicative Disorders from Westchester University of Pennsylvania (2007).
Best friends since High School, Tricia and David W. Ciccocioppo married June 1, 2002 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania where they continued to live until moving to Austin, Texas at the end of 2006 so Trish could begin her Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) career, and be closer to her sister.
She worked most recently as a Clinical Educator for St. Augustine University, where she supervised students in the SLP program. She was also a long-time SLP for the Austin Independent School District, and RiverKids Pediatric Home Health.
Tricia was a kind person who cared most for people with disadvantages and disabilities, and she advocated tirelessly for groups and individuals that deserved a stronger voice. She was a leader by example, and she never judged, but she made you want to try harder at everything and never take the easy way out. She was a foster mother to 7 children over the course of several years, and adoptive mother to two of those 7. She loved traveling with her family back to Pennsylvania, and visiting friends around the country.
An extremely creative person, she loved music and seeing her favorite bands in concert, as well as singing karaoke with friends. Tricia loved to draw and had a natural talent for creating photo-realistic portraits in pencil. She loved to get friends and their kids together to make crafts and holiday decorations. A huge fan of the holiday season, she was known to listen to Christmas music at any time of the year, but especially starting as early as September. She also looked forward to meeting up with her “Book Club” for dinners, cocktails, and road trips.
Tricia is survived by her husband David W. Ciccocioppo of Austin, Texas; Sons Jakob (11) and Chance (9); Father, Edward James Ferguson; Sister Christine Karrington and her husband, David Karrington; Father-in-law, Michael Ciccocioppo; Mother-in-law, Peggy Ciccocioppo, 3 sisters-in-law, Mary Logan, husband Scott Logan, Melinda Ciccocioppo, her husband Matthew Blume, Melissa Ciccocioppo, her partner Spaz; and 4 nephews. Tricia is preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Marie Ferguson.
Celebrations of Tricia’s life are being planned for a later date in both Austin and Western Pennsylvania and will be announced by her family.
