Tyler Ramsey Pryor passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2026. He was 42. Also known to his friends as Ty, Austin has been his home for the last several years. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Dallas. Upon graduating from high school, he attended John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. Graduating in 2007, he majored in history and political science. Upon returning to the United States, he worked on political campaigns in the Southeast United States and throughout Texas.
His many passions included politics, history, movies, F1 racing, comedy, podcasts and Dr Pepper. Conscious of his “personal brand,” he was seldom without a blazer and crisp white PF Flyers, and a quick sense of humor. A great friend to all, Ty had the ability to make everyone feel welcome.
Tyler will be missed by his mom and dad, Dan and Nancy Pryor of Austin. Extended family includes aunts and uncles; Phyllis and Charles Bludworth of Friendswood, Texas, Barbara and Enrique Torrico of Boynton Beach, Florida, and Billy and Liliana Gunn of Dallas, Texas. Equally important, Ty leaves behind a myriad of friends whom he valued as his second family.
A memorial service is to be held Sunday, October 18 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in downtown Austin.
