Usher Shantel Scroggins

Shantel was a beautiful source of love, warmth, and joy to everyone who was blessed to know her. Her kind spirit and loving heart touched the lives of many, and although she is no longer with us, the love she sharded and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to call her family, friend, or loved one. Shantel received her formal education through the Austin Public Schools. After completing her education, she began her career as a Leasing Agent, she quickly advanced to become a Apartment Manager.

Beyond her career, Shantel found great joy in the simple things that brought her family together. She developed a lifelong love of cooking, and her family especially cherished the meals she prepared. Cooking was more than something she enjoyed, it was one of the ways she expressed her love for the people who meant the most to her.

Shantel was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was her heart, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through each generation.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, JoAnn Simmons and Coraline Brown; her uncle Rodney Wingwood; and aunt Stephanie Wingwood-Jennings.

Shantel leaves to cherish her precious memory her parents James Edward “Bo” Wingwood and Svelta “Beverly” Wingwood; her sister Tasha Wingwood-Chavis (Corey); her brother Marcus Greely; and her three children Marcus Maxwell. Mercedes Maxwell and Bevanique Maxwell.

She also leaves beloved grandchildren Jamari Maxwell, Makayiah Maxwell, Javoan Maxwell, Zhurri Blanchard, Zy’ire Blachard, Zaiden Blanchard, Riley Blanchard, Corgeous Blanchard, and Tra’Monii Hardeman.

Through Shantel’s earthly journey has come to an end, the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will live on. She will deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
