

Vena was a shining light that touched many lives. Her life was filled with compassion, love, and a strong faith in God. Vena's passing will leave a large void in the hearts of her family, friends, and others touched by her.
Survived by her husband, John Disch, daughters Marilyn Garrison and Brenda Shelton, son Brian Wallace, Son-in-law Dale Miller, 11 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great-Grandchildren, her twin sister Vina Milam, sister Rena Lou McGee and numerous nephews and nieces.
Preceded in death by her parents Tempie and Thomas Woods, her first husband Cecil B. Wallace, siblings Pat Woods, Louis Woods, Roy Woods, Bill Woods, Tommy Woods, Mae Cantrell, daughter Darlene Anderson and husband Ralph, daughter Rita Miller, son Kenneth Wallace, Great-Granddaughter Maci Casias, and Great-Great-Grandson Aiden Kelly.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Mark Faurie, Robert Anderson, Travis Shelton, Scott Faurie, Shawn Faurie, Brandon Shelton, and Adam Miller.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cook Walden Funeral Home at 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Cook Walden Funeral Home at 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas.
Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Cemetery at 2800 Hancock Drive Austin, Texas.
