Vera Inez Griggs, age 90, of Austin passed away Friday morning, August 13, 2004. Vera was born on December 22, 1913 in Bastrop County where she grew up and attended school. She was married to Richard Frank Griggs and worked with him as a secretary and bookkeeper in his plumbing business. Richard preceded her in death on August 24, 1982. Vera was a long time member of the Hyde Park Christian Church in Austin. She is survived by her son, Larry Richard Griggs; daughter-in-law, Lesley Ann Griggs; nephew, Robert W. Ferguson and various other family and close friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 16th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop.
