Vicki Sanders Sabatino Barnette

Born on January 3, 1960, in Austin, Texas, Vicki was a lifelong Austinite who proudly called the city home. She graduated from McCallum High School in 1978 and spent her life surrounded by family, friends, and the familiar places she loved.

Vicki was known for being independent, stubborn, and generous. She loved her dogs, enjoyed listening to oldies music, cheered on the Texas Longhorns every chance she got, and always looked forward to trips to Louisiana to try her luck at the casinos. She lived life on her own terms and was never afraid to speak her mind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley Sanders and Shirley Maxine Sanders, and her brother, Norman Wesley “Butch” Sanders Jr.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Paul Barnette; her son, Scott Eason (Sarah); her daughter, Nichole Sabatino (Jacob); her stepdaughter, Becky Barnette; her granddaughter, Maddy Eason; her step-granddaughter, Reagan Reece; her sister, Debbie Belvin (Glenn); her sister-in-law, Diana Schmidt; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff at Texas Oncology, as well as the dedicated caregivers of Hospice Austin and Christopher House, for the exceptional care, compassion, and dignity they provided throughout Vicki’s journey. A special thank you to her nurse, Devyn; chaplain, Katrina; social worker, Paula; and caregiver, Cindy, who quickly became part of our family. Your kindness, compassion, and unwavering support meant more to us than words can express.
