Vic was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin April 29, 1945. He attended Parker High School and joined the Navy. After serving his country, he explored other opportunities such as: joining Janesville Fire Department, becoming a father, an entrepreneur, and finally, retired with the United States Postal Service in 2007.
Vic will be remembered by his best friend: Carol Croake Gutierrez, his biggest fan and daughter: Jennifer Carey, his rivaling chess opponent and son in law: Dan Carey, his favorite (and only) sister: Patricia Croake and brothers: Tim Croake, Bill Croake, and Mike Croake and his two Grandsons: Austin LeMaster and Parker Carey and extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his son Jeffrey Croake.
It was always a good time if Vic showed up whether it was playing cards, a game of chess, enjoying music, jamming out on the drums, making playlists, telling LONG stories, watching sports or just relaxing. His happy-go lucky demeanor was infectious and is loved by so many people. Friends and family near and far will miss him for his sharp wit, loyal friendship and fun spirit.
Vic, may you rest in peace and we hope you enjoyed the long and winding road.
