

Virginia Jacqueline (Jackie) Boydston died peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 94 in Austin, Texas. Jackie was born on May 21, 1932, in Champaign County, Ohio to Robert Allen Wiseman and Sarah May Howard Wiseman. Jackie married Porter Gene Boydston on December 5, 1953. Jackie was a stay-at-home mother for many years and when Kinney Avenue Baptist Church asked her to fill in as church secretary for 6 weeks she said yes and then retired from that position after 19 1/2 years. When Porter and Jackie moved to the Dripping Springs area in 2008, they joined Bannockburn Baptist Church Dripping Springs where she was a member until her death. Jackie was known for her color coordinated outfits and earrings. She enjoyed word puzzles and especially her Monday Scrabble games with her best friend Karlene Hiser. She was an avid letter writer and enjoyed sending letters and cards to friends and family and continued to do so until shortly before her death.
Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Allen and Sarah May Wiseman; husband, Porter Gene Boydston; sons, Howard Lynn Boydston and Ronald Wayne Boydston. Jackie is survived by son Darrell K. Boydston and wife Lynn of Bastrop, TX; daughter-in-law Linda Boydston of San Antonio, TX; daughter-in-law Martina Anderson of Leander, TX; daughter Sarah L. (Laurie) Cooper and husband Marvin of Austin, TX; grandchildren Mary Beth Kochersperger and husband Steven of Amarillo, TX, Danny Henry of San Antonio, TX, Bailey Devereaux and husband Justin of Glen Rose, TX, Jacob Cooper of Denver, CO, Preston Boydston of Bastrop, TX, and Haley Boydston of New Braunfels, TX and numerous great-grand children.

A Visitation will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX 78749, US, on July 1, 2026, at 11:00 am. Followed by a committal service.
