

Virginia Padilla Ledesma was born on June 19, 1940 in Victoria Texas to Ernest Padilla, Sr. and Guadalupe Padilla of Austin, Texas. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2009, our mother stood strong until called upon by our heavenly father on June 22, 2012.
During her lifetime, Virginia was a devoted stay-at-home mom to her five children and bookkeeper to her husband’s drywall business. After her children were grown she found a second career and retired from Travis County to enjoy a lifetime of retirement with her husband. Virginia loved to cook, sew, garden, interior decorate, and care for her grandchildren. Her favorite vacations included many trips to the beach with the family where she loved to fish, and trips to Las Vegas and Shreveport.
Virginia is preceded in death by her father, Ernest Padilla Sr., and brother, Ernest Padilla, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Ledesma; mother, Guadalupe Padilla; brothers, Rick Padilla and Bob Padilla; her children, Steve Ledesma and his wife, Rosemary, Ernest Ledesma, Jr. and fiancée, Irene Hernandez, Melinda Ledesma, David Ledesma, and Lisa Young and her husband, Chris; and 10 grandchildren, Ernest Ledesma III, Melissa Martinez, JonPaul Ledesma, Jennifer Elizondo, Christine Kilcrease, Anthony Elizondo, Stephanie Ledesma, Jonathan Ledesma, Aaron Ledesma, Noah Young; 8 great grandchildren Adam, Xavier, Nevaeh, Jude, Sarah, Ryan, Aylissa and Matthew.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Tuesday, the 26th of June 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o’clock that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 27th of June 2012, at St. Julia’s Catholic Church, 3010 Lyons Road, Austin, Texas. A graveside service will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday in the Lockhart City Cemetery, Lockhart, Texas under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Santa Cruz Church in Buda, Texas.
