Virginia Combs Reed Virginia Monterie Combs Reed, 77, died Monday, May 9, 2005. She was born in Ingalls, Arkansas, grew up in San Antonio, Texas, and lived in Austin since she married in 1946. She was a good wife and a loving and patient mother. Our Travis Heights home was a safe and happy one, always filled with animals of all kinds, but we will especially remember her beagles. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Reed, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters, Virginia M. (Montie) Reed and Eva Laurie Reed, both of Austin. She would have liked to thank all the good friends she made while living at the Heritage the past three years. They were all a comfort to her. We send a special thanks to Michael and Father Ralph. We are glad she is at peace and with her loved ones. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Meals on Wheels, P. O. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 11, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 12, Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel.
