Elizabeth Wilson (Virginia Elizabeth Belk Wilson) November 18, 1918 - October 6, 2009 Our sweet, pretty, precious "Mama", "Nana", "Betty" "Miss Elizabeth" went to be with her Lord at the age of 90. Her family will miss her sweet smile, chocolate pie, giggles, fried chicken and unconditional love. She was born in Bartlett, Texas to Pearl Annette Kelley Belk and Oceola Franklin Belk. She was a much loved only child but she dreamed of having a big family with lots of children. She and her husband of 67 years, Thomas Jackson Wilson had 3 children: Tommy Wilson, Peggy Ann Wilson Seiders (married to Jack Seiders), Kelley Michael Wilson (married to Carol Genster Wilson). Their grandchildren are : Chelsey Seiders Bryant (married to Vernon Bryant), Chad Seiders (married to Ruthie Mann Seiders), Tiva Wilson Robson (married to Chris Robson) Gregg Frasure (married to Jennifer Engemoen) Weston Wilson, Scotty Wilson and Elizabeth Wilson. Their great-grandchildren are: Wilson Bryant, Chandler Bryant, Bridget Bryant, Sallie Ann Seiders, Katie Seiders, Jack Weller Seiders, Townes Frasure, Grant Robson, and Bowen Robson. Elizabeth graduated from Bartlett High School and moved to San Antonio to attend college. She then worked as an artist, fashion designer, seamstress and hotel executive before meeting Tom on a blind date to a USO dance. He had graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana and was a lieutenant Air Force Pilot stationed in San Antonio. They fell in love, married in a month in New Orleans where he was sent overseas for 2 and a half years during World War II. She waited for him to come home in Austin, working at The Capitol National Bank. They both loved Austin and decided to build a home and raise a family when he returned. Tom worked at The Texas Highway Dept. and Elizabeth raised her children. After they built their second home (in Travis Heights) Tom (with Elizabeth's help) started a marble and granite company. This began their love of traveling together. Tom retired at 60, they moved to Westlake in Lost Creek. They spent their next 20 years traveling the world, to most of the European countries as well as Australia and New Zealand, attending their grandchildren's games and recitals, having family dinners, going to church and setting a life example for the family, their greatest joy. In 2006 Elizabeth moved from her home in Westlake to the Summit at Westlake Hills. In 2007 she moved to the new Summit at Lakeway where Tom soon joined her. They enjoyed many special moments together. Elizabeth lived the last few years at The Summit at Lakeway with Tom receiving wonderful care and lots of entertainment. Our thanks to everyone at The Summit at Westlake Hills and The Summit at Lakeway for making Elizabeth comfortable in her last days. Tom will miss her there, but will keep on singing! Elizabeth leaves a lasting legacy to her children by leaving them her paintings which were so much a part of her. Elizabeth was a wonderful artist and had an art studio in the basement of her home in the 1960's. The group (Capitol City Art Society) would meet and paint everything from still lifes to portraits. Also, in the 1960's she owned a dress shop on South Congress called "Mode O Day". Have fun in heaven, Nana! We love you so much. Your family The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis Funeral Home, 411 Ranch Road 620 South in Lakeway. Entombment will follow at Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin. Elizabeth's grandsons will serve as her pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Heart to Heart Hospice, 4029 S.
