Vivian Mary Knapp was born to Evelyn and Francis Capitano on November 2nd, 1933, in Tampa, Florida. She passed away peacefully in her bed on December 5th, 2023, at the age of 90. Though born in Tampa, Florida, Vivian was raised in Jacksonville, Florida by Evelyn and Lee Snyder. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Travis Snyder.
Vivian is survived by her beloved husband: Kenneth Knapp and children: Cynthia Louden, David Knapp, and Michael Knapp. She will be missed by her grandchildren and their spouses: Christopher Louden and Yessenia Torres, Joshua Knapp and Sarah Knapp, James Knapp, Jon Knapp and Jessica Knapp, as well as her nine great grandchildren. She was also the proud and loving mother of many canine children over the years and is survived by her Westie, Khloe, who will sorely miss her.
In addition to providing a loving home for her family, Vivian worked as an administrative assistant for the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources for 20 years. However, her true passions were gardening, which she inherited from her mother’s father Allen Underhill, and cooking which she inherited from her father, Frank.
Vivian’s love, generosity, and gentle spirit continues to embrace her family. She devoted herself to maintaining a warm and loving home, raising her children, and providing a support system for her husband’s career as a chemist. She was always available for her grandchildren and delighted in her great-grandchildren.
Vivian will be greatly missed by her entire family and all those who knew her.
A funeral service for Vivian will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750.
