Walter Arthur Peterson of Del Valle, born July 18, 1931 passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from complications of Alzheimer. Walter served his country in the Army and was in Korea. He was a member of the Onion Creek Baptist Church. He retired from St. Stephen's Episcopal School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Clara Mueller Peterson; wife, Geraldine "Jerry" Peterson. Walter is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lay Peterson; Evelyn's family, daughter, Beverly Herrera, her mother, Helen Peterson; grandchildren, Heather and Daniel Herrera all of Austin; brother, Alton Peterson and wife Dorothy of Kingsland. The family would like to thank Austin Hospice for their care and kindness with Walter. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Cemetery.
