We are here today to celebrate Wesley Sanders. He was born September 6, 1935 to Sam and Roberta Beth Law Sanders in Liberty Hill, Texas. Wesley loved his family and fishing. He married the love of his life, Shirley, on August 14, 1953. They had 3 children, Butch, Vicki, and Debbie.
He worked as an Iron Worker for the Local Union #482. Wesley went into business in 1978 and he retired in 1992.
His passion was fishing. He always had a tale about the big one that got away. Wesley was always ready for his next fishing trip. During his fishing years he was a member of various Bass Clubs in Austin and he won many fishing tournaments.
Wesley is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Roberta Beth. His sister, Jewel Benner; his brother, Delbert Sanders and numerous fishing buddies.
Wesley is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley, and son Norman W. Sanders Jr., affectionately known as Butch and girlfriend Diana. Daughters; Vicki Barnette and husband Paul, Debbie Belvin and husband, Glenn; and sister-in-law Laverngn Sanders.
His grandchildren; Michael Wesley Sanders; Kaci Strube and husband Glenn; Scott Eason and wife Sarah; Nichole Sabatino and Becky Barnette; Amber Wallace and husband Zach and Nathan Belvin and fiancé Carley.
His great-grandchildren include Hunter, Misty, Aubrie, Autumn and Madelynn. He was loved by all his nieces, nephews and many friends.
Special thanks to his hospice nurse, Tina who was compassionate and made sure that he was comfortable. Also a special thanks to Aunt Vern for always being there for us. Malcolm and Arlene Wortham, thank you isn’t enough for everything you both have done for Daddy. Malcolm from the deepest part of Daddy’s heart he loved and cherished your friendship and for that we greatly appreciate knowing you made our Daddy’s life a little better.
