Wilbur Conrad "Bill" Althenn

Wilbur Conrad “Bill” Althenn, age 85, of Austin, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013. He was born April 22, 1927 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as a Military Police Officer.

Wilbur was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and hunt. He volunteered at many organizations, including the Austin Area Food Bank and the Hospitals Mending Hearts. Wilbur always had a great smile.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elsie Allene (Chaudron) Althenn; children, Robert, Richard, and Denise; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Service will be officiated by John Onstott, Celebrant.

He will be greatly missed. I am so sorry I didn't have more time with him. He was always so loveing and careing.I loved listening to his stories. Rest in peace and may god take care of you now.

I will always fondly remember the fishing and hunting trips that He and I went on. And I will greatly miss my father and friend.

I was sorry to hear of Uncle Wilbur's passing. I always looked forward to receiving his Christmas card every year. I'm sure he's catching up with Aunt Doris and my mom Shirley now. God bless the family.
