William David Allen

William David Allen, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law passed away August 9th, 2025, in Austin Texas at the age of seventy-four. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to William Hammond Allen and Harriet Wayland Allen.

After high school, he attended Washington State University where he graduated with a degree in Geography. He made the move to Texas after his parents retired in Center Point, Texas. Before moving to Dallas, he taught at Tivy High School in Kerrville, Texas. After moving to Dallas, he attended The University of Texas at Dallas where he acquired a Masters in Environmental Science. At the same time, he worked for the Hunts where he met his wife, Joan. They were married October 21, 1978 in Irving, Texas. They moved to Austin, Texas in January of 1979 when he went to work for the Texas Water Development Board, where he served the people of Texas for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joan, of Austin, Texas; his daughter, Kimberly Denise Booker and husband Brian of Taylor, Texas and their children Jaxon, Whitley and Isabella; his son Westley David Allen of Austin, Texas and his children Lola and William; his sister Margaret Ann Allen and her husband John.

He also leaves many friends and extended family, all of whom will miss his humor, dry wit, and love of life.

A celebration of his life will be held at County Line Barbeque on 2222 from 11:00am to 2:30pm Saturday August 30th.
