William Trickey Biel

William Trickey Biel, age 81, of Austin, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2007. He was born on August 16, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas at Baylor Hospital. Billy and his wife, Louise, lived Corpus Christi, Texas for 57 years. Billy was a life long resident of that city. He and Louise moved to Austin, Texas in 2005. Billy graduated from Schriener Military Institute in Kerrville, Texas. He served in the U. S. Army as a PFC at the end of World War II. Billy served for eighteen months in the Philippines. He graduated from Del Mar College. Billy received his BBA from A & I College, Kingsville, Texas. He joined the family grocery business and later became the president of Biel Grocery. Billy was also a rancher on the family owned Biel Ranch. And was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas and a charter member of Island in the Son UMC. The Biels are current members of Covenant UMC in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Biel; sister, Mrs. Irma Biel Morley; brother, Robert E. Biel. He is survived by his wife, Louise; three children, seven grandchildren. Dr. William Trickey Biel, Jr. (Claudia Butts), Carl Trickey Biel, Maren Biel Williams (Owen); Carl and Maren, children of Dr. Biel and Diane Birsner; John Richard Biel (Thao); children of Richard an Patricia Salter Biel; John Richard Biel Jr. (Amy), Jeremiah Baylor Biel, Aaron Michael Biel, Sarah Patricia Biel and James Daniel Biel; daughter, Katheryn Louise Biel (Warren Cullar); also his sister-in-law, Mrs. R. E. Biel; and many nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to Covenant UMC or the charity of your choice. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Covenant United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 30, 2007 at Seaside Memorial Park. A reception will follow at Island in the Son United Methodist Church.
