

Bill Furman, 71, Interior Designer, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Born and raised in Kerrville, Bill graduated from the University of Texas and began his career with Jack Ravel & Company. In 1978, he established William A. Furman Design, whose client list included many prominent Austin families.
Bill was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church, served on the board of the Austin History Center, and was active in the Austin Arts Community.
He was predeceased by his parents, William Arrington Furman and Sophie Mary Karger Furman; and two brothers, Philip Huey Furman and Thomas Bowers Furman. Bill is survived by two nieces, Michele Smith of Missouri City, TX and Sophie Furman of San Antonio, TX; and a nephew, Gregory Furman of Dallas, TX.
He will be fondly remembered by his Tivy High School classmates, the professionals and craftsmen with whom he worked, and many friends, including his former clients. We will miss his sharp wit, his loving friendship, and his unerring good taste.

A memorial service will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N Lamar Blvd in Austin at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24th.
