William was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Shannon and Lawrence Hodge. He was an only child and knew from an early age that he wanted to be an architect. He graduated valedictorian from Haltom City High School, Haltom City, TX, where he played bassoon. William attended the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated at the top of his class. Upon graduation, he worked for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in Chicago, IL. It was while living in Chicago that William married his wife, Christy, but the Chicago winters drove them back home to Austin, Texas. William worked for a handful of architecture firms in Austin while completing his licensure and slowly building his own business. After many years, he began working for himself full time. Under his own firm, he has completed many residential and commercial projects throughout the Austin area, the state of Texas, and beyond. Throughout his entire career, he was proud to say that he had worked on projects on every continent except Antarctica.
Besides architecture, William’s great passions included his family, God, music, and food. He was extremely proud of his sons, and loved sharing his favorite music with them - everything from classical to rock.
William is survived by his parents, Shannon and Lawrence Hodge; his wife, Christy; sons, Calvin and Linus.
