

William C. (Spike) Parker, a lifelong resident of Austin, passed away on August 25, 2014. He was born March 14, 1945 to Morris W. Parker and Viola Pearl Williams Parker, who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki J. Parker; daughters, Michelle Parker Baumbach and husband Donald Baumbach, Stephanie Parker Barker and husband S. E. Barker, Shawna Guidry Kowis, husband E J Kowis, Jr.; and son, Sean A. Guidry and wife Lisa Bright Guidry. He is loved by 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandson, many friends and extended family, and his constant companion, Axel Rose.
Spike was a graduate of McCallum High School, Class 1963 – 1964. He then served in the U S Navy 1965 to 1967 active duty – serving on the USS Canberra as Mid Shipment Photographers Mate during the Vietnam Conflict. After his military service, Spike attended Sam Houston State University with his first wife of 22 years, Donna Hodge Omelan, graduating in 1972 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He enjoyed 39 years working in the Oil & Gas industry in Texas beginning with Tenneco in 1972 and retiring in 2011 from Eastex Crude Company.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 28th at Weed-Corley-Fish, North Lamar. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2014 at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
