William Neal Powers, Jr. William Neal Powers Jr., died on February 8, 2005. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 28, 1921. He was a veteran of WWII and the Battle of the Bulge serving as an officer in the 3rd Army. He attended Southern Methodist University and received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law. Following the war he practiced oil and gas law in Houston, Texas and Washington D.C., and made several appearances before the Supreme Court of the United States. He was preceded in death by his son, Neal Powers III, who is survived by his wife Patti. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Heep Powers and his two daughters, Kathy Powers Buffington and Penny Powers Pattee and her husband Bob. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Blake Buffington and his wife Lea, Kimberly Buffington Quaid and her husband Dennis, Katie Pattee Boswell and her husband Mark, Courtney Pattee, Morgan Pattee and two great-grandchildren.
