Willine Dobson Park

Willine was born on October 28, 1938 in Pensacola, Florida. Her father Willie P Dobson, Jr. was in the Air Force. Their family moved frequently but she always thought of Jay, Florida as her home. She was married to Robert (Bob) F. Park for 49 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob and both parents Willie Park Dobson Jr and Janie Pauline Craft Dobson. She is survived by her children: Robert F. (Fred) Park, Jr. and wife Stephanie, Janie Cecila Park Spector and husband Jason, Renee Dobson Park Wall and husband Gary; grandchildren, Brandi Paige Wall Alexander and husband Clint, Troy Michael Wall and wife Marisa, and Shanon Nicole Park; and great-grandchild, Thomas Mack Alexander. She is also survived by a very special nephew, Leroy Vernon Ross and wife Carla, their children Landon Ross, Cody Ross and wife Ali, Trey Ross and wife Hailey, and grandchildren, Madison Ross, Cy Ross and Cal Ross.

She is also survived by many cousins in Florida and Texas, in-laws and many nephews and nieces. Her family was very important to her. She was an only child so she loved her big families.

Willine knew from childhood she wanted to be a nurse and that never changed. She attended Kentucky Baptist Nursing School. She made lifelong friends there and attended class reunions yearly. She loved being a nurse. When she was a young nurse she mentored UT nursing students and doctors. Even to this day those nurses remember her compassion and kindness. As her nursing career continued she moved into leadership roles in the Austin nursing community. She assisted in the making of long term care protocols which became a national document. She helped write curriculum and teach continuing education classes that were approved by the Texas Nurses Association. She was an active member of the Austin area chapter of the Texas Nurses Association and Texas Healthcare Association.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 19, 2017 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow the services at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.

Honoring Willine as pallbearers will be Clint Alexander, Troy Wall, Landon Ross, Cody Ross, Trey Ross, and Rodney Cox.
