

Yogendra Mohan Kapoor was born on December 9th, 1938 in Kapurthala, India to parents Ram Sukh and Satya Kapoor. He grew up in present day Lahore, Pakistan before moving to New Delhi following the India/Pakistan partition. On March 2nd, 1968 he married his beautiful wife Veena Kapoor in New Delhi.
Yogendra and Veena welcomed their wonderful daughter Angela Dolly Kapoor on July 21st, 1970 in New Delhi, India. Shortly after, Yogendra immigrated to the United States to pursue his masters in Physics at Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. He would often tell his family the story of arriving in the US with $100 cash in his pocket.
Yogendra, Veena, and Dolly lived in New Jersey and Ohio prior to permanently landing in Jefferson City, Missouri. Yogendra completed his PhD at University of Missouri - Columbia in 1979 and began his teaching career as a Physics Professor at Lincoln University. He loved being a professor for 27 years until his retirement in 2006. Yogendra and Veena moved to Austin, TX to be closer to grandchildren Alisha and Akaash after retirement.
While in Austin, his favorite hobbies were writing in his many notebooks, watching classic Hindi movies (especially those with Raj Kapoor), and playing games with his grandchildren. As Alisha and Akaash grew up, he was always there to attend every recital, performance, and graduation ceremony.
Yogendra will be remembered by his calm demeanor, infinite wisdom, and endless love he gave to those who were lucky to know him. His presence and guidance will be forever missed by the Kapoor and Khurana Family. Yogendra is survived by his wife Veena, daughter Dolly, son-in-law Arun, and grandchildren Alisha & Akaash.
