Zelle Horton Petmecky

Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Zelle Horton Petmecky, age 84, went to heaven on June 3, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hal, on April 26, 1971. Zelle was born in Chillicothe, Texas on September 22, 1921, to Joe and Ruth Horton. She is survived by her son, Hal Joe, his son Djo Petmecky and wife Scotta, former daughter-in-law Susan, and their children, granddaughters Chandelle Crane and husband Ron and sons Bryce and Seth; Sheila Hernandez and children Kaelynn and Jaron Hernandez; grandsons Donnie Petmecky and partner Anita; Jody Petmecky and wife Jamie; Jeremy Petmecky and wife Sarah; granddaughter Heidi Petmecky, and grandsons Jake and Bobby Petmecky; son Allen Petmecky; daughter Sally Taylor and husband James, grandson Jared Taylor and wife Amy, granddaughters Katie and Valeria Taylor, and grandsons Zachary and Alexander Taylor. Her sister, Barbara Brown, and brother Jack Horton also survive her, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Petmecky resided on a ranch near Dripping Springs for many years. She loved the ranch life and was a true pioneer, and was very independent. She taught school in Dripping Springs for many years, and is fondly remembered by many people. She also taught school in Alaska for 12 years. She was a faithful member of the Dripping Springs Church of Christ.
