For brother John and I Aunt Dealy was like our big sister.......she took us everywhere as children and taught us about love and respect. My memories of her will stay with me for the rest of my life,(especially her Line Dancing at The Ritz Hotel on her last visit to London). Rest in peace Dealy....our love is still with you.....Raymond

Matante Adeline, I was so sad to hear that you left us but I know it's for a better place where your loved ones are waiting for you. I have fond memories of being on the farm when I was a child, they were some of the best years of my life and I will cherish them forever. Rest in peace matante, 'til we meet again. xoxo

To Jean-Yves, Diane, Brock, Nick and great-grandchildren, our sincere condolences.

Dear auntie Dealie
My father Joe, loved you and, like yourself, always spoke so highly of you and his family (especially mum and dad). I remember the exchange of letters – always good, positive, happy news from you. But there is one day in my childhood that I will never forget – a beautiful sunny, Sunday morning, August 1968 – a telegram arrived with tragic news.
You shared your life stories with me when I came to visit you in 2009 and that’s when I learnt of your true strength and courage. No matter what was thrown at you, you took the bull by the horns and fought and never gave up. Your values were good, old fashioned faith, honesty, respect and you only ever focussed on the positive.
Always frustrated with the distance that separated us but always happy to hear your voice when you called (especially on my birthday) and even happier on the few occasions when we were together.
You told me that when you left London in 1945, you put your faith in St Theresa (the Little Flower) and kept her with you on your journey. For you, dear auntie Dealie, I will pray to St Theresa every day, and also Sant’Antonio, that you continue your journey in peace.
Love Marisa

My favorite memory is.......All the great times we had when my parents would take us to the farm. We had so much fun playing and running around, sitting on the swing and Tante Adeline always had some kind of home baked treat.
Although It's been awhile since we sat together, I will miss your smile and hugs.
You will always be in my heart.

Aunty Dealy "Adeline" was a very special person and broke the hearts of all the family when she went to live in Canada. Even though the miles separated us, she was always in my thoughts. I treasure the times we spent together on her visits to England. I have many loving memories and in my heart the love will continue until we meet again. May she rest in peace.

Loving niece, Jean

In Loving Memory to Auntie Dealy

I thought of you with love today
but that is nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday
and days before that too.
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name
All I have are memories
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake
with that I'll never part
God has you in his keeping
But, I have you n my heart.
Your ever loving niece Helena X

One of the very few remaining war brides who left their families and country in the name of love. Their loss was our gain. She will be remembered.
