1947-2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of James (Jim) Michael Reid announces his peaceful passing from atypical Parkinson’s, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the age of 73 years. He was in the tender care of his family and the staff at CHSLD Lionel-Emond.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lyn and children Erin (Dave), Craig (Gillian), Leslie (William), and Jennifer (Clayton), by his grandchildren Ben, Martin, Zachary, Clayton, Amber, Skyler, Gabe, Sadie, Isaac, Katie and Isaiah, and his great-grandchildren.
Jim was predeceased by his parents James and Kathleen Reid.
Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg, and graduated from the Manitoba Institute of Technology in 1968. In the early 1970s Jim moved to Edmonton where he worked for many years in the printing industry with Co-Op Press and Quality Colour Press. He co-founded McCallum Printing and worked there until his retirement in 2010.
Jim and Lyn married in 1988 and raised their family in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Jim coached softball and ringette and cheered at football games. He was an avid skier and sportsman, playing squash, tennis, and golf.
Jim was a true cinephile: watching, cataloging and reviewing over ten thousand movies. He and Lyn moved to Aylmer, QC in 2010 and spent winters in Englewood, FL.
We will miss Jim’s sense of humour, his calm reason and his congenial nature that always put people at ease. As per Jim’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
Condolences can be sent to www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/aylmer. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca).
