Marion passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 23rd in her 90th year surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-one years, Ronald Nason, her parents Roy Allen and Mildred Allen (nee McKiel), and her brother Herbert Allen (Fredericton).
She will be sadly missed by her children Allen Nason and Paula Nason, her daughter in-law Lorraine Matthews, her son in-in law Harold (Rock) Wiegand, and her devoted grandchildren Chelsey Nason, Josh Nason, Micaela Wiegand, and Max Wiegand. She leaves behind her beloved siblings who she adored Royden Allen (Fredericton) and Wyn Smith (Fredericton/Mississauga), as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Marion was an angel living here on earth. Anyone who was privileged enough be part of her life knew a truly beautiful soul. She made everyone around her feel special when in fact it was Marion who was the special one. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who cherished her family and was cherished by them. Marion was always ready to open her door and extend a hand to those in need, whether that was to a struggling friend, a stray kitten, or an orphaned raccoon.
She lived her life quietly and in service to her Lord and Savior. The Catholic Church was her second home, and her many friends in the Catholic Women’s Guild had a special place in her heart. The art she created will fill her family’s homes for generations to come. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, needle worker, painter, and potter. Her garden was one of her greatest creations, and she had a special gift for taking care of flowers and plants. She made every house she lived in a home, and many will remember the fun-filled times when she hosted them with her husband Ron at their cottage in the Laurentians, their home in Montreal, and their vacation house in Florida.
Of course, no gathering was complete without her sparkling sense of humor, and even on her hardest days in her last few years, she kept everyone around her laughing and shaking their heads at her punch lines. Marion will be missed but never forgotten, and those who loved her will always feel her presence when they sit down for a cup of tea or take a few minutes to walk in a garden.
The family would like to thank her dedicated and loving caregivers Lisa Simmons and Lise Lanthier, the social workers and palliative care team of the CLSC, as well as Melanie and the doctors at the cardiac clinic of the Hull hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a memorial donation to a charity of the donor’s choice.
