We want to send our sympathy to  the DeRosa family for the loss of their father and grandfather. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. DeRosa both at Lizy and Mike’s wedding and later at their family gatherings in their home. Mr. DeRosa seemed very kind-hearted. He will always be watching over you. You will all remain in our prayers. Peace. 

Ron and I got into lots of mischief while we were growing up and I’m sure we gave our dad lots of problems and laughs. We did lots of things together but my fondest memories were our camping / canoe trips on the Delaware river.
Ron was always the big brother who looked out for us after our dad died and he was always there when we needed him.
I am missing him terribly but I know he is now free of all pain and suffering that he endured over the last several years. I still sometimes go to reach for the phone to make my weekly call to check on him. Say hi to our past relatives up there and save a place at the bar for me.

Thank you for always being so welcoming and caring towards me–you always made me feel like family. I'll never forget our Yankee Swaps at Christmas time, especially the one where you and Dede asked for a blanket as your gift but also bought the exact same one to give away. During this moment you made us all laugh, but looking back, this was a perfect example of your kind heart. You would do anything for your loved ones, and I hope you know that because of you, this quality has spread throughout your entire family. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to know such a kind soul like you.

Paul and I have fond memories of sharing a table with Ron and Dede at cousin's Sandy's wedding.  Our deepest condolences to the DeRosa family.

Uncle Ron, I’m not even sure where to begin. Camping. The bowling alley at the firehouse. Thanksgivings. The Beach Boys. You sent me a letter of encouragement when I was I basic training and it came at the time that I thought that I was defeated. Thank you for being a wonderful “dad” to my pop. Ron was my “big” brother and I loved him dearly and I shall miss him dearly The years go by without apology and all of a sudden we wake up and must face the unthinkable. Ron and I had good times together, fishing, canoeing, camping and a little beer drinking. I looked up to him, as he kind of took over after our dad passed away. It is hard to believe he is gone. Ron, I know you are at peace and free of pain. That gives me a sense of peace. I love you brother and will think of you often. As you walk thru the gates of heaven, remember to close them. Say hello to Pop, Aunt Mary, Grandma and all we loved that passed before you. Peace be with you. Your baby brother,

  We will never forget Michael swimming with the chief!! He always wanted to go back to the “chiefas” house.  Rest In Peace.

We are very sorry for your great loss. Hopefully now he is resting in peace and with no pain.

Our sincerest condolences to the DeRosa family. I will never forget going to the fire house to go bowling, the picnics down by the river in Smithtown and the canoe rides. Mr DeRosa always made us feel welcome in his home. I  am grateful to have had you in our lives when we were growing up. All our love always, Frank and Patty and the kids.

To the Derosa family, I send condolences and prayers to all of you to heal from sadness and to find comfort as you celebrate the life of your wonderful dad in your lives ahead.  I  will remember Ron to be such a friendly man,  always kind, patient and great to converse with. I remember him dancing at Liz and Mike's wedding, I will always be able to hear his jovial laughter at holidays and party's and his welcoming way when we would stop in for a visit, and oh so very awesome with kids. The many beautiful photos in his home tell wonderful stories of a man who is well-loved, who savored experiences and spending quality time with his family. Ron, I'm sad that your physical time with us has ended, but glad to have known you and shared some fun moments that I get to hold in my heart. with love, Sandra.

I'll always remember Mr. DeRosa as the guy trading jokes with my father at a BBQ in the backyard and how cool it was that our Dads were hanging out. I like to think that if they grew up together they'd be great friends, too. Hugs to the entire amazing and wonderful DeRosa Family. Was honored to know Ron. Not only as a fellow Smithtown Fireman, but as a friend. He was  and will also be to me a loving, caring man. Thank you for being a constant source of support, love and my best friend. You showed me the true meaning of family and what it takes to put everyone else first before yourself. 81 years, what a run. I’m glad I got the opportunity to know and be around you for 22 of those. We’ll take care of Dede, I know you’re probably worried about her. Although I can’t text you daily anymore, try your best to still send me messages. Get some rest, I can’t wait to see you again. 

Hey Karen, I still remember meeting your dad for the first time when we drove home from Oneonta.. From that first handshake he made me feel like family, and then he proceeded to bless me for spending so much time in a car with you. Lol. I hope someday I can return the favor with my girls and thank him. Our prayers are with you and family. The pain today will lessen, but the memories and good times will live forever.

Mike's graduation from high school party. Mr "D" says to one of my classmates and me "hey this cake smell funny to you?" we go over and he sticks our face in the cake, starting a food fight of cake. Mr D always had humor in his life and was willing to share it with me EVERY time I saw him.  We need more like him.

A favorite memory was when we used to go canoing on the Delaware river and shooting the Rapids. Great fun and  and fond memories.

The heavens are blessed with a man whose smile lit a room.  He was always smiling because his heart was filled with love.  Prayers for healing.  Love to  you and your family.

You were always the strongest and smartest guy I knew. I will miss knowing that great advice, support and encouragement were only a phone call or a visit away. Growing up, you always made sure we all knew what was the right thing to do, and how to do it.
