

Clodomiro Torres, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, August 4, 2024, at the age of 82. He joined his Mother Ramona, Father Clodomiro, Brothers; Raymond and Manuel in eternal peace.
Clodomiro was married to his beloved wife, Noemi, for 60 years. Their enduring love story began in their youth in Brooklyn, where their fathers introduced them. A remarkable partnership characterized by mutual respect and deep affection.
Born in Puerto Rico, Clodomiro immigrated to New York at 18 with a strong desire to build a new life. His journey was marked by incredible perseverance and self-reliance. He taught himself English by immersing himself in newspapers and television, reflecting his unwavering commitment to overcoming obstacles. His exceptional skills as a salesman landed him a job at Major Jewelers. He tirelessly showcased his dedication for 15 years. That led him boldly to open his own store, "Carib Jewelers," a testament to his ambitious spirit and entrepreneurial drive.
Clodomiro was known for being deeply private, those close to him appreciated his trustworthiness and stoic demeanor. His strength and reliability earned him the respect and admiration of family, friends, and colleagues alike. Despite his reserved nature, his integrity and dedication spoke volumes about his character. In his quieter moments, Clodomiro enjoyed watching the Mets, following boxing, and occasionally indulging in horseracing. These interests were a subtle reflection of his personal tastes and offered him a sense of calm and enjoyment.
He is survived by his three children: Ricardo Torres, Michael Torres (Deborah Torres), and Denise Torre (Andrew Torre), as well as his cherished grandchildren: Ricardo Torres II, Joel Torres, Emily Torres, Anthony Torres, Sophia Torre, Andrew "AJ" Torre Jr. Siblings Irma, Carmen, and Elsie. Clodomiro's legacy is one of resilience, loyalty, and profound love for his family.
A visitation for Clodomiro will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Claude R. Boyd/Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702, followed by a prayer service from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
