Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Darcy was the beloved daughter of Jay and Mary. She carried with her the values of family, kindness, and dedication throughout her life. Later, she met the love of her life, Terence Cantwell, and together they built a beautiful marriage and family, sharing 52 wonderful years together.
Darcy was an avid reader who rarely missed the chance to lose herself in a good book. A devoted Harry Potter fan, she delighted in the magic and wonder of the series. She also loved bowling and treasured the friendships, laughter, and sense of community it brought to her life. Whether competing or spending time with family and friends at the lanes, bowling was one of her favorite pastimes.
Above all, Darcy was devoted to her family. She will be deeply missed by her loving sons, Thomas (Kristine), James, and William; her cherished grandchildren, Emma, Cate, Karalynn, Jack, and Sean; and her beloved niece and nephews, Colleen Kiernan, Jim O’Brien, and Chris O’Brien.
Darcy was predeceased by her husband, Terence Cantwell; her parents, Jay and Mary Roth; and her sister, Laura O’Brien.
Her warmth, strength, and love for those around her will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held in the Conklin Room on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 666 Albin Avenue, West Babylon, New York 11704.
Darcy's memory will live on through the family and friends she loved so dearly, and she will be remembered always with love and gratitude.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Darcy’s memory to Susan G. Komen, a charitable organization supporting breast cancer research and awareness.
