

David is survived by his sister, MaryEllen; his brother, Matthew; his nieces, Cathleen and Patricia; and his nephew, Michael. He is also mourned by many cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Charles, and his brother-in-law, James.
David was a proud member of the U.S. Army, where he served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War. His military service was a testament to his courage and dedication to his country. After returning home, David channeled his creativity into art, becoming known for his pen-and-ink drawings and illustrations. He was a published illustrator, contributing to a poetry book and earning recognition for his talent. David studied at the Pan American Art School, where he refined his skills and developed his unique artistic vision.
An avid reader, David always had a book in hand, with a particular love for mystery novels. His passion for literature and his creative spirit extended to writing his own poetry, reflecting his deep thoughts and observations of the world. David also had a profound love for nature and animals. He could often be found outdoors, enjoying the beauty of the natural world that inspired much of his work and poetry.
David cherished the time he spent on road trips with his brother Matthew, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A visitation will be held at Claude R. Boyd - Spencer Funeral Home, located at 448 W Main St, Babylon, New York, 11702, on October 9, 2025, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The inurnment of ashes will take place at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York, 11736, on October 9, 2025, at 1:30 pm.
