To my Gram, My Pal
I can’t begin to put into words how much I love you and miss you. You’ve always been my person and I know how fortunate Tara, Tommy and I are to have had you as our center all our lives. You always made our house a home. You are my role model, our sense of security and the wisest person I know - still to this day you are who I want to go to for advice. Our bond is beyond special and I will carry you with me forever. I’m so grateful for how close we always were and I hope I can be even half as good a parent and hopefully grandparent as you. There are so many memories from Litchfield to Arizona, Seattle and Alaska,  thousands of long talks and letters, the best hugs, long distance tears, back scratches for shoulder rubs - I’ll always cherish every moment. I’m not ready to say goodbye and I’m not sure how the world is spinning without you in it. I’m thankful for those final few days with you and wish we had so many more. I love you gram, my pal - forever and always. ❤️

To my gree what can I say about u gram there are no worlds to describe how much I love you how special you are to me everyone would always joke that I was your favorite but In all reality you are my favorite person in the world you raised me like a son u put up with me all my maybe not so good times in my life but u where always there for me no matter what I did your the strongest woman I’ve ever known maybe too strong that u can actually wrestle me to the ground lol or chase me around with a wrench until u lock me out of the house until I honked on the horn of your car for an hour until u let me back in lmao so many memories so many things u have shown me n made me the man iam today and by u being such a amazing mom I believe showed your son my dad how to be the best dad ever I’m not going to lie I’m struggling to live this world without u but I know your with me in my heart n mind forever I love u so much gram u mean everything to me please tell uncle Bob n grandpa n the rest of the family your with now I said hi I love u n a big hug to bear for me I love u gram love always your favorite P.s thanks the the 300 in bowling

 Speaking of things I can never do as good as you is playing rummy. Grandma, why can’t I ever win? I thought you taught me so well! Our Alaska trip is one of my most favorite memories. Playing rummy every day, long talks and driving you crazy. Keri and I will cherish that trip forever. Tommy, Keri and I were also so lucky to have gone to Arizona and the Grand Canyon with you. Although, you may have also wanted to leave us in the desert, I guess we always did drive you a little crazy but I know, like we did, you loved every minute of it. I loved those trips and as you did with your sisters, I want to travel and experience the world with Keri and Tommy. You have inspired so many things in us. I only hope I can be half the woman you are. Grandma, do you know how special you are to us and the impact you have played and will continue to play in our lives? I hope so! You are unforgettable and irreplaceable!I know you will always be there to guide us through life. You will be the wind that comes through on a still day, The thunderstorm that brews out of nowhere. You will be there always when we need you the most or when we do something that will make you proud. You are the jelly in the thumbprint Xmas cookie that will help keep things together. You are your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and your legacy will continue on through us. Your personality, special qualities, all that makes you- you will forever be prevalent in all of us. Although I can’t comprehend life without you, I know I will forever hold you and our memories deep in my heart. And I know…. Ain’t nothing gonna breaka my stride, ain’t nothing gonna slow me down, oh no, I got to keep on moving!!

Gram, how lucky am I to have had 44 years with the most remarkable woman. I know we should be celebrating your 98 years of life and the positive impact you have played in all our lives but this is the hardest thing I’ve had to go through. I thought you would live forever but I know you always will live within us. 
So many amazing memories started at Litchfield. Like you being raised by your grandparents, Tommy, Keri and I are grateful to have been raised by our grandma. You are not just our grandma, you are our rock, our anchor, role model and best friend. Most of all, you are our hero. A hero that has given her life to something bigger than herself. I know you devoted your life to us. 
Life was hard with mom and dad’s divorce and like you said, “life isn’t always a bowl of cherries” but you always being there for comfort, advice and strength helped us through. 
Litchfield… I can remember so clearly how your bedroom and sitting room looked, every detail in the wallpaper and knick knacks spread throughout ,of life memories. I would run in to say hi as you sat in your chair reading your book (probably a mystery, which would explain why I love them so much). The amount of ding-dongs and devil-dogs falling out of the cabinet from the school cafeteria that you would bring home. Little did you know that Keri and I stashed plenty under our beds that we would pull out at night while coloring in our gigantic coloring books. Although, you probably did know. I feel like you knew everything sneaky we did. We thought we could pull the wool over your eyes but you were way too wise for us! I can also feel the coldness in my body, coming back from ice skating, pulling off our snowsuits and boots while the smell of grilled cheese and tomato soup lingered in the kitchen. I’m still such a sucker for grilled cheese and tomato soup even though I can never make it as good as you did. I am also determined to make those jelly thumbprint Xmas cookies, that will forever remind me of you. 

Mom, you were the best mother in the whole wide world and a truly inspiring, kind, awesome person. We can't believe you're gone. We are all lost without you. Willie and I miss you so much. We miss your voice, your smile, even your smirks and we miss you sitting in your big chair and at the kitchen table. The house is empty without you. 
We continue to look for the birds, rabbits and squirrels that you and I watched for every day for the past few years.  And we watch the sunrises, sunsets and the full moons you loved to see! 
It's been an honor and a privilege to have you live with us for over 20 years. But God needed another Angel and you needed to be at peace and free of the pain you were enduring. And, hopefully you've met up with Dad and Bob and the whole Wilson clan!! You will be "forever in our hearts" and we'll love you till the end!

That smell... The best thing you have ever smelled in your life as a kid. I remember walking into my Grams kitchen to see the gravy on the stove.
Then next best thing. Home made Italian meatballs, freshly baked from the oven. Gram would give us kids a fork and we would stab one of these monster meatballs and get a bowl of that gravy to dip into heaven!

So many years later that is a memory that brings a smile to my face and I see my Grams equally happy smile. One that would warm any room.

We shared great moments staring at the nights stars and pondering the universe and all its possibilities.

Eleanor  was an anchor to our family, a Pilar of strength and a sharing warm heart of gold. Grams reached a long and fulfilled life and her memories and spirit lives on in all of our families memories and whenever I feel down, I see her infectious smile and I leave the blues behind.

Thank you Grams for all you have shared and experienced with our fortunately large family.

We live many miles away from our family but we are all here with all of you today remembering a special woman!
