Jane Neilson

Jane Neilson (nee Gilmore), 74, of West Babylon, entered into Eternal Life on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Beloved wife of 55 years of James. Devoted mother of Brian. Loving mother-in-law of Jessica. Dear step-daughter of Carol. Cherished sister of Thomas Gilmore, Nicholas Sosnicki, and Carol Ann Gilmore. Predeceased by her parents, Franklin Gilmore and Jane Benziger, and her brother, Franklin Gilmore III. Also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. Before her retirement in 2015, Jane was the Director of Patient Access at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Bethpage. In her retirement years, Jane enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, painting ceramics, and loving her cherished cats. A devout member of the United Methodist Church in Bay Shore, Jane volunteered in the soup kitchen and also belonged to the Ladies Home Extension group. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by each life that she touched. A memorial visitation will take place at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W. Main Street, Babylon, Thursday, May 21, 2026, 2:00 PM-4:30 PM & 7:00 PM-9:00 PM. Funeral service 10 AM Friday, May 22, 2026, at the funeral home.
