Jean D. Hocter

Hocter, Jean (nee DeGarmo), age 91, of Babylon Village, Long Island, New York on April 14, 2016. Devoted mother of Jane Hocter Remis and her husband, Jay Remis. Cherished grandmother of Andy, Matt, Sam and Emma Remis. Loving aunt to John, Susie, Cathy and Richard DeGarmo, Nancy Harsche, Donna DiCarlo and Joe Hocter. Jean was the wife of the late William Hocter.

A 1942 graduate of Babylon High School, Jean attended Packard Jr. College and worked as a stenographer at the Long Island State Park Commission for 37 years. She loved spending time with her extended family and close friends and was a lifelong member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. She was an avid Mets fan, attending every home game for many years and traveling to spring training and on road trips with her family.
